A man was hauled off to jail yesterday after crashing his car and running from deputies in Wichita Falls.

Wichita County sheriff’s deputies said they tried to get the suspect to pull over after they spotted him on Avenue K, but he took off and eventually crashed into Prestige Paint and Body on Kell. The suspect then got out of the car and ran from police.

Deputies said when they were chasing the man, he threw a bag they believed to be drugs, on a nearby roof. He was caught behind a house on the 3100 block of Avenue R and taken into custody.

The passenger in the car was found to not be involved and was not arrested.
