Shots Fired, Serious Injuries Reported At T.I.’s NYC Concert

tiEmergency services are responding to multiple shootings during T.I.’s concert at Irving Plaza in New York’s Union Square.

Shots were fired shortly after 10pm Wednesday (April 25) as T.I. was performing. Four people were shot, a police officer on the scene tells Billboard. A man was put into an ambulance with a reported gunshot wound to the chest, and a woman was carted out on a stretcher, with what appeared to be a shot to the leg. Two men and a woman were reportedly taken to Bellevue Hospital and a fourth victim walked into NYU Hospital.

Eyewitnesses have described a scene of mayhem, as shots were fired inside the venue and the audience fled. Video purportedly captured inside at the gig shows a panicked crowd scattering.

“Right in front of me, someone was shot right there. People were running and getting stomped on,” one gig-goer named Rodney told Billboard.ti2

By 11pm, concert-goers were crowded outside the venue and police blocked their exit from the area. Police were shuffling in and out of the building and it’s unknown if arrests have been made.

T.I. wasn’t on stage at the time of the incident.
