On August 1st, people with a handgun license will be allowed to carry a concealed firearm on Texas community college campuses.  The new law was passed and approved in 2015 and went into effect for four-year public colleges last year, but community colleges were given an extra year to prepare.

“They can come in if they have a license to carry.  They can carry their handguns, but it has to be concealed,” said Officer Ken Terry of the Vernon College Police Department.
