
Today marks the 73rd anniversary of D-Day. It was on this day in 1944 when over 160,000 Allied troops, commanded by General Dwight D. Eisenhower, stormed the beaches of Normandy, France. Allied forces overpowered German troops in a fight that was considered to be a turning point in World War II.
