The Burkburnett Chamber of Commerce is hosting their first trade show Saturday from 10am-6pm at the Burkburnett Community Center.
Russell Miller, Executive Director of the Burkburnett Camber of Commerce, said the board wants to help the economy.
“We sat down as a board and examined different avenues to try and address how we could invigorate our economy,” Miller said. “We decided that home ownership was something common across our society and our north Texas community.”
Miller said the event is for all citizens of Texoma because the economies are connected.
“We are all part of the same economy,” Miller said. “It is not just the economy of Wichita Falls. It is the economy of the entire north Texas area. We share that common engine that drives it all.”
The show will focus on the housing industry with builders, renovators and much more.
“We will have someone there that can help and advise you on anything you are interested in doing with your home,” Miller said. “It will cover the gamut on taking care of your home and upgrade or improving what you already have.”
Miller believes the housing industry is the best way to grow and that everyone can benefit.
“If the pie grows, everybody’s share of it is bigger,” Miller said. “We will have exhibitors in the show based out of Wichita Falls, Iowa Park, etc., but they do business here all the time. So they are part of our community.”
Miller said that all the booths have already been rented out to exhibitors and admission is free to the public. There will also be car dealers on-site if you’re in the market for a vehicle.
Miller said that if this year’s show is successful, they will consider hosting another trade show next year.
