Residents across Texoma are dealing with flooding after heavy rains Wednesday night.

“We got so much rain, especially in Archer County, but Clay got hammered,” TxDOT Public Information Officer Adele Lewis said.

Four to five homes along State Highway 148 in Henrietta were under water.

“Not only is flash flooding a problem but even more so right now; we’ve got some residual flooding from runoff,” Lewis said.

Many residents say the water has never reached that high before. But, around 7 am they said water began to come into their homes. One man said he felt broken after seeing much of his land and home under water.

“This is a constantly changing situation,” Lewis said.

TxDOT crews have been working around the clock on flooded roadways and will continue until the threat is no longer in our area.
