A cardiovascular surgeon who has saved thousands of lives in Texoma has passed away.
Dr. Olyn Walker had a long career in the medical field. He taught many future heart surgeons while stationed at Brooke Army Medical Center and served our country for 20 years. After retiring, he became the first black cardiovascular surgeon to do open heart surgery in Dallas.
He later moved to Wichita Falls and continued his passion, practicing medicine.
Dr. Walker’s visitation will be at Owen & Brumley Funeral Home Tuesday May, 17th from 6-8pm. Funeral services are set for Wednesday, May 18th at New Jerusalem Baptist Church at 11am. Procession will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.
