Local Rescues Seeing Overflow Of Animals

Texoma pet rescues are asking for your help.

A number of shelters are full because animals are not being adopted.

The rescues hope Saturday will change that with a national adoption day. Kimber Hopkins is the founder of Emily’s Rescue in Wichita Falls.

She said some of their dogs have been with them for a long time and right now there is no room.

Area shelters and rescues that are participating in Clear The Shelters include:

  • Bowie Animal Shelter, 1504 E Wise St in Bowie
  • Emily’s Legacy,1400 W Rathgeber Rd
  • Humane Society Wichita County, 4360 Old Iowa Park Rd.
  • City of Wichita Falls Animal Services, 1207 E. Hatton Rd.
  • Humane Society of Young County, 120 Craig St in Graham
